Are you going through a divorce or know someone who is going through a divorce? This is one of the hardest things that a person has to go through. The emotional strain compounded with the burden of trying to understand the legal system is a stressful and unpleasant experience. At this seminar, my objective is to explain the legal process concerning divorce and custody issues and to help you minimize the impact this event will have on your children.
At this seminar, I hope to answer some of the questions you may have concerning divorce, such as:
- What is the difference between a contested and an uncontested divorce?
- How long does an "uncontested" divorce take?
- Do I need a Separation Agreement?
- I will also give you tips for how to help your child or children deal with the divorce.
We will discuss the importance of you and your spouse providing a united front for the child; the importance of sitting down and discussing the issue with your child; making sure your child is able to spend time with both parents; and the importance of counseling.
